I looked at this car long and hard and couldn't really tell if it was real or not. it has real knock offs.

Can't tell, but I would bet either a CSX7000 or an ERA FIA replica. The originals are worth too much to leave out.

Looking at the inner door panel I noticed it was sheetmetal, I'm assuming a kit car would be thick fibreglass.

I'm with CheapSk8 not even a crazy person would leave an orginal out without having armed guards around it

I see the tag, but need a VIN.

If it says CSX2XXX, it's an original.
If it says CSX7XXX, it's a Shelby continuation FIA 289 Replica.
If it's anything else, it's a kit with a Shelby plaque.

Bolt-in Roll bar, interior aluminum, other visual things lead me to believe definitely a replica.

BUT - It's my favorite Cobra body style, so good sighting! :hail2:

if it was real, the guy must not be afraid of people leaning on it since the alum. body dents if you look at it wrong. plus the shifter is wrong for it to be original

Wrong shifter seals it. The vertical is a T-5 give-a-way.
