Oh man, if you love cars, you HAVE to be watching Top Gear!!! It's on (albeit a season behind) cable here in the states. But many people just download them as they air over in the UK via torrents from www.finalgear.com 13 season now...the show is a thing of legend. You should really check it out.
Best car show on the planet. Should be interesting to see how a cars guy like Leno and Clarkson will get along.
Never heard of Top Gear? Anyway it's a must for any auto enthusiast. The clip is great, looks like it will be an awesome episode. BTW Did anybody notice the rather large FORD logo in Jeremy's office???
That's cool that he was on UK Top Gear ... but when I read the thread title I got all excited that he might be a co-host of the US Top Gear that is supposed to be coming out soon.
He already said no to hosting that and for now the USA version is on hold. They filmed some eps, showed them to the networks, and no one wanted to pick it up. I'm fine with the UK one and honestly it would take some SERIOUS casting/writing/directing to make it all come together like it has for the UK version.
I pretty much stopped watching it since they dyno tested the gt500 and said it was underpowered as it put down 430ish hp, and not the "rated" 500.... hello, whp!
Well, there's a reason for that. <embed src="http://videos.streetfire.net/vidiac.swf?video=89b9972d-9d2b-4979-9d7d-9aae00f815ce" width="428" height="352" allowFullScreen="true" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed><br/><a href="http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Top-Gear-Ford-GT_164060.htm">Top+Gear+-+Ford+GT</a>
I know, that was super annoying. Especially when you notice that they make the point of saying BRAKE horsepower whenever they review a car. They clearly know the difference, they just decided to be asses with the GT500 review. I wanted to kick that stupid marker out of, (what is he called, hamster?) out of hamster's hand as he wrote "almost" I still watch the show, but you have to take things with a grain of salt. They love almost all British cars. Cant really blame them for patriotic bias, I am probably the same.
You know he sold the GT for a Lambo Gallardo Spyder. I am not sure what he drives today... oh wait, I think its some version of a Merc SL.
I did not read the thread, jus the title. Top gear is a Britain biased program(Grrrr). So hopefully Jay Leno can educate them on real motoring. I respect Jay's opininon.
boy they dont like American cars. Id still give a kidney to own one. as for Jay being on their show, from what Ive see the best part of his collection is the old stuff, the Dusenberg(s) and such. I cant wait to see what else he has. damn maybe i should have watched the clip first. To bad they didnt to a top gear from his hanger full of cars...
I don't know man...yes they make it a point to bag on the American stuff for being American, but they're tearing something up in almost every episode. I think every make of vehicle, or its origin has been subject to their scrutiny over the years. The mostly just do it for the entertainment factor. Hell, Clarkson absolutely hated the latest Z06 Corvette...and people over here can't get enough of it. Believe it or not...the whole issue with his GT stemmed around a factory installed aftermarket alarm system that would randomly go at the most inappropriate times and Roush Europe’s inability to correct the issue…and out right lie about doing so afterwards. He had it back something like a half dozen or so times for the same problem and said it was ruining his life. lol In the end, he decided that European Ford Dealerships simply didn't have the skilled technicians necessary to work on such a specialty car and they actually bought it back from him. Despite this issue, he still stated he loved the car so much he even bought it back from them later on down the road when the said the ironed out the issue, but they still couldn't correct the problem. He sold it years later for the Lamborghini...yes. I know he sold the Lambo a year or two after that...and he's gone through a few Volvo's since then?
Brian I know, Jeremy is a Ford-o-phile just like us. Thanks for the video I've never seen that one I clapped as soon as they announced the Ferrari beating lap time. BTW: Nice cougar I've had 2 MN-12 T-birds in my day
I think that link is a huge scam. I just get pop-ups for porn sites and other random crap. I would be concerned it is a source of spyware/malware. The only place I have been able to view Top Gear is on YouTube, hours after it airs, and before the BBC is able to take down the vids. If the BBC were with it, they would just allow us to watch on itunes or something for a small fee. I would pay something to watch, I just dont want to wait several months for the pleasure, because it is sort of like a news show, in that, they review the latest and greatest cars.
