I have two different amps right now for my front components (Infinity Kappa perfect 6.5").

Right now I am running a JL audio 300.4. It sounds pretty good.

I also have a Phoenix tantrum 500.2 that I was thinking of running at 4 Ohms instead (about 120-150 watts X 2).

Do you think that might sound any better/worse? It will probably be a lot louder at lower volume settings for sure. What about sound quality though?

i really dont care for JL amps, the speakers kick ass,but the amps,i have seen too many that blow .

Phoenix is still a reputable name,as far as sound it depends on the specs and the crossover points.

Ive never owned a JL but they dont appeal to me good speakers as mentioned. The PHOenix Zx series where the 5hit, i would go with the phoenix even though i have never had one of those models..
