i got my jlt rai, im attempting to install it. the filter is so long, that no matter what angle i put it at, the change is so severe either it pops out right off the tb or the filter pops out at the bottom. here are two pics to illustrate what i mean. on the site, the filter appears smaller then mine in some pics. did i get the wrong filter here? im confused, this isint a complex install.

ive tried installing it in pieces, all together, split down the middle, calmly, pissed off, dancing, you name it, ive tried to install it that way.

any other changes to the first piece off the throttle body result in it hitting the shocktower or the valve cover.

In the first picture it definitely appears as if the rubber boot is not slid onto the TB all the way and in the 2nd pic it looks as if that same rubber boot needs to be rotated clockwise a little.

Since I'm not there to eyeball myself though it's had to say what the problem is. I've sent a PM for you to the Mr. J. Tucker himself asking that he pop in here and assist you.

Don't lose your cool just yet man.... deep breaths and relax... :D

it never moved from those 2 pics. its just the angles i got most likely. it was on the tb all the way unless it was slipping off, i tried rotating, seems like everything. cant get the god damn thing on. no matter how it went there was not enough angle downward to allow the airfilter neck to seat properly and not be pressured off the maf adapter.

a friend came over last night so i just put the stock stuff back on so i could go drive it. ill give it another shot today. otherwise stock will go back in place :nonono:

Put soapy water on the rubber and install as a complete assembly.
Leave clamps loose and make the needed adjustments.
    That's about it.

i got it in there, except for the airfilter. it was all in, when it came time to put the heatshield on though the airfilter slipped off.

there is a bit of af oil on the maf adapter piece, and since there isint a lip on the end the damn filter just slips off under any angled pressure. which slipping the heatshield over it does.

so once i get that fixed, it should be good. too bad its raining like hell outside.

What's the status on your RAI install? Did you ever get it all lined up and fitting correctly?

There's probably another 15-25RWHP more left in the car even after those mods... you just need to have it tuned is all. These cars are pig rich from the factory and there are things like torque management, timing, fuel trims, etc. which can be tweaked.
