Well i just ordered my Exhaust for my vehicle. I ordered the Pypes Muffler delete kit with the 4" tips on it. Sounded pretty good. But the question i have is , i have never worked on exhaust and was wondering if someone like myself could do it. I have all the tools and im not completly retarded when it comes to mechanics but dont need to screw something up on my girl. Lol. Also if anyone knows where they give pretty good directions on how to install the pypes kit would be greatly appreciated.
One of the easiest bolt-ons you can do. Don't worry about it at all. It's very straight forward. The hardest part is lining the tips up. If you put them on and your tips aren't lined up, loosen the clamp where the over-axle pipe meets the mid-pipe, and twist the over-axle pipe a bit. Trust me. It's extremely simple.
I did my mufflers with no problem. See TacoBill's write up on how to do it. FRPP / Borla Stinger exhaust install - The Mustang Source
Thank you guys for the feedback. Cant wait to get my hands on them. Looks simple enough. On another note. I have been Seeing pictures of these headlights painted the color of the vehicle. Looks sick and i been wanting to get some. I attached a picture of it. Anyone know where i can get these?
That picture came from Classic Design Concepts. You can get them there. There are other makers, but I can't think of who offhand.
On the exhaust install I suggest that you loosen the clamps up in the center of the car where the mid pipes are too. You can adjust everything including the mid pipes to help things to line up correctly. You might need a buddy to help hold the tips off to one side while you are tightening clamps to correct any fitment issues. Even high end systems can have slight fitment issues and I know Pypes products do sometimes have a few issues.
No one currently produces these lights. CDC made a couple of sets for their show cars. They've said it's on their "to do list" for a couple of years with no success. I've begged other companies to make them, but have received no response. Several people have taken their stock ones apart and painted them, but it doesn't look as good, and it's a pretty tough process.
