My '98 4.6 GT (Only underdrive pulleys, 3.73 gears for mods) gets >300 miles on each tank running 87 octane. The secret is no hard accelleration and add to that some highway driving. I travel over 300 miles/week to and from work and my GT is my daily driver. Got to really get the most out of this dastardly $3.00/gal fuel crap and I refuse to get a ricer! One fillup a week works for me!

I got 422miles on one tank coming from chandler, az to deming, nm and I wasnt doing 70mph, I kept it at 85-90mph the whole way with the a/c on (mom and grandma in car). The low fuel light had been on for about 20minutes when I got to the gas station in deming. Man sounds like alot of you guys just WOT shifting to get up to speed lol. 422miles/16gallons=26.3mpg. Not that hard to get.

wow!!! when my 04 GT was stock she got about 280~290 (tops)...now that she is mod'd and i get on her every day in the stupid bumper to bumper traffic and now im lucky to get 210-235.

gotta drive agressive enough, but not to the point where your an @$$hole out here....but with premium costing 3.50 per gallon, i've really tried to slow donw and keep my foot out of her... :(

Man i remember just a few years ago when i was worried about it hitting 2.00 per gal...it was like 1.80 and i was like i hope it doesnt hit 2.00..........geeeeze those were the days!

not uncommon on ours. I get 300+ most every tank. I've gotten a best of 30.x MPG I filled up this week and had 320 miles on the tank, and I had right under 1/4 tank left.

My low fuel light is weird. Sometimes it doesn't come on. We hold what, 16 gallons in the 01 GT? I've put 14 and 15 gallons in it before

Did a trip to Florida last weekend in my GT. Got 382 miles but had to stop shy of 400 because next gas station was like 20 miles up the road! When I filled up, I determined I still had nearly two gallons in the tank! Funny thing about it, I ran a good portion of the trip with the top down.

My outright best so far is 342 miles which equated to 28.9 MPG on a complete freeway leg of a roadtrip. I was extremely pleased with this mileage since I'd had the top down and wasn't really driving slowly (75-85 MPH) but never "jack-rabbited" the gas pedal.

But in the city, well.. That's a whole other animal. LOL.
