I use and know a bunch of people whom love their air filters, but what do yall think about their oil filters. They sure are expensive at $12 a pop. I do like the idea of a nut on the top of them for easy removal though.

I can't see spending $12 for a filter that will perform the same as the Motorcraft FL 820 S that costs $4 at Wal-Mart. I think the extra $8 is
paying for the name KnN. Just my .02 :p

Are motorcraft and fram really the same filters? Aguy at the store told me this. When I started thinking about it, they are in the same catalogue, if one is sold by a store you are gauranteed to find the other, hmm, interesting. I know that the Fram is crap to everybody on here, but why?

Ok I read most of the article.

Use the Mobile 1 filter if cost is no object. Even this top rated filter is cheaper than some on a Walmart shelf today.

Do not use a basic Fram filter off the shelf. It is the cheapest design going.

Middle of the road choice would be Motorcraft. Hum, thats what I been doing for the last 4 oil changes with Mobile 1 Oil.
