Sorry I've been away guys...good to see a lot of the old people are still on this forum..as well as the new people (welcome!)

Recently I bought a gsxr-600 (nice lil starter bike) and have been busy with work and school. I haven't had much time to mess with the mustang :(

Butttt, may 24th I'm shipping out to Parris Island for Marine Basic. Figured I'd let everyone know....mainly cuz I'm bored and have some spare time, lol.

    Hope everyone's well

    Clay

Basic training.....I did the Air Force version, not bad at all.

What are you going to do for the Marines? Go into aviation, I say that, but I'm biased. The pay check as an E-1,2,3 sucks...E-4 is OK, only gets better from there. You'll make it up in deployments. You may have the option to decline the GI Bill as you inprocess, DO NOT do that. That thing is worth way more than it's price tag.(you should be given a $50 per paycheck deduction for 1 year=1200, GI Bill is worth ~45K) Any idea where you'll be stationed? Overseas is a riot, but, there is alot of potential to get in trouble, whether by your own actions or guilt by association. Take that for what its worth.

Enjoy man, military is a really good job. Meet great people form everywhere, you can see more things in a 4 year enlistment than most people see in a lifetime (good and bad), ask your parents how much they pay in health insurance, then look how much yours costs, that is sweet in itself. Go to college for free, I am, well, uncle Sam flips the bill.

    you guys say Semper Fi...

I'll give you an Aim High!! (again Air Force so I'm biased)

    Marine hard brother, Marine hard!

    haha, thanks guys

I'm going into aircraft mechanics. Nothing is set in stone yet...but I know I'm doing something in aviation. My score on the ASVAB as well as my mechanical background would assure me the MOS. They have 5 spots left for it, too.

I pay my own insurance now so I definitely know how nice it'll be not to pay that every month. I'm also going to enjoy the free living....that'll save 600 bucks a month alone.

I've got a lot of buds in the service and my roommate was a D.I. in the Army, so I got a good bit of insight.

Thanks again guys...btw, I owe yall some pics of the car. I think I only showed you guys a couple taken at night when I first got it. It still looks the same, but now it was the 331 in it with a 125 shot til I get my blower rebuilt.

I'm thinking about footing the bill and getting some white saleens with MT et streets on the back....

Isnt your new car white with porno red interior? White Saleens would be kick ass, but be careful with those MT's incase you ever get stuck in rain! Way to go on the GSXR purchase, Im rockin an '01 GSXR1000 as my first liter bike! (not by first bike though)
