as the title says, i am looking for the entire black center console for my foxbody mustang. where could i find one?
junk yard or classifieds are your best bet. or you can order one up from 50resto.com and paint/die it.
center consoles are worth $$. expect to pay for one, find one at a junkyard or find an idiot who thinks its worth minimal $$.
believe it or not try using vinyl paint from pep boys did it with mine a year ago. no problems no chipping all good.
no way is it the same stuff used, but it works. Usually a good console with no cig burns goes for 250$ and Up on ebay. you can find okay ones for 150 just check craigslists all around you they come up from time to time
i sold a nice black center console for 90 shipped complete. some people are dumb i guess haha. plan on payin 100+ for a real one though.
I got one on ebay for $40 for the top lid WITH working ashtray, and $75 for a MINT main body. Armrest was another $50 OEM black stuff is much better than painted stuff. In the sunlight they just don't match. I had a painted center console and in the sun it stood out like a sore thumb. It would be one thing if the entire interior was painted, because at least it would match. Also, my phone sliding around in the tray on the lid wore through the paint so the grey started to show through. In the end, i just ponied up the $$ for OEM stuff and haven't looked back. Funny thing was, in normal light, it matched fine. Only in bright sunshine or pics did it stick out like a sore thumb...like this. (Just the top lid is painted) Compared to all OEM black (porno red to OEM black swap)
yeah re did all the trim with the paint so it all matched. better than the dull blue gray that it was.
There's a set of grey 01 leather seats on CL in my area...he wants $400 for them.....and I don't think they'd work with my interior, it would be nice to have leather though
The light grey, or the dark grey like mine? I kinda like the charcoal seats in a grey fox interior. I remember seeing GroverDill's car, and that's when i decided i needed a set for me.
