I just bought a 91 LX that looks like its on stilts. Im trying to decide what springs to buy and how they will look. Do any of you guys have some pics of your lowered car? what springs did you use?

    Thanks

not to high jack the thread, but could you guys also tell how the car rides compared to stock? I want to lower my car also but I don't want it to ride like a log wagon.

mine rides pretty good. should ride alot better once i put better struts in it. but like most lowered cars, its really stiff. so you feel most the bumps even if they are really small. i wouldnt put it back to stock i know that much lol

I have FMS C springs. It handles great and I honestly like the way it rides better than stock. Some may consider it to be slightly rougher, but to me it seems more tight and solid, like it should be rougher if that makes any sense. The stock suspension feels way too lose for me after driving a car with suspension mods

i love em... you really can feel thedifference in weight distribution even on the street, the front of the car pulls up more whick brings the weight to the back just where you want it... and the ride is much better compared to the 1989 ones that were on there lol :nice:

Im digging the eibach pro kit. The only thing that kind of bothers me is the back is slightly higher than I would like judging by the pictures I have found. has anyone had any luck with trimming the back springs? I just want the car to sit even without the back end raised slightly higher than the front.

im not sure what type of performance your looking to get out of the suspension but just be aware that most kyb's are significantly higher in the performance category than stock...thats why there only $140 on ebay for all 4...if your looking for better performance i would look into some better brands.. ie: strange, bilstein, QA1, ect... an adjustable front and rear will help increase your weight transfer... although, i saw you were looking at sportines which really kinda kill the weight transfer anyhow cause there more of a street suspension...

I have an 88 GT with the Eibach Sportlines. They lower the car approximately 1.7". These springs will give your Mustang "THE LOOK". Even the import guys can't look away. The car sits so sweet and handles awesome. I drive all back roads with curves and dips and drive an average speed of about 50 mph. I drive atleast 300 miles a week with this car and it's my daily driver. It's not a harsh ride at all. I am about to put in the adjustable AGX struts and shocks. I think the ride will get a little more firm which will be fine with me since it's too soft. Stock shocks and struts don't work well with this much drop. I also bolted on the Eiback front and rear sway bar kit - also a must.

    - Eibach Sprortline springs
    - Eibach Sway Bar kit
    - Aftermarket upper and lower control arms with Polyurethane bushings

BTW, I have the Ford C springs on my notchback right now and I don't like 'em at all - I like the level to the ground look - not the jacked up in the back look personally.

I'm going the handling route with an ocassional trip to the drag strip but it will probably spend more time going around Road Atlanta at events with open track days.
I haven't had it to the strip yet but I will within the next 3-4 weeks as soon as my Billet Specialties drag wheels show up. 15x3.5 front and 15x8 rear - Nitto 555R 275/50/15 Drag Radials showed up friday! Can't wait!

Im not looking to do much drag racing, just looking for a step up from stock since mine are shot and the car is my daily driver. Any one with these shocks/struts? Hows the ride?
