Firstoff, am I correct in assuming that the metal piece inbetween the air box and the air silencer is the MAF?

And if I am, there was something I noticed about it when I was gutting my silencer... The MAF is now the choke point on my intake, as it narrows to about a 1 inch opening. I've got a wide, free flowing intake from start to finish, except at the MAF now.

I'm assuming that a stock 5.0 MAF would be a heck of a lot wider than the 2.3 one, so I was thinking about pulling one of those from a junkyard. Would it bolt on, though? And if it doesn't bolt on and I have to rig up a custom intake (I was planning on getting a K&N generic cone filter anyhow) would the data cable plug still match up?

your car would run like crap. keep the one you have. any gains that you see from a 5.0 maf wouldnt justify the cost
