I just bought the Magnaflow dual exhaust kit (part#15717) for my '03, 3.8 six cylinder. I also purchased a GT rear bumper with the double cutouts to replace the non-cutout original bumper. I just had a scary thought...When I install the Magnaflow dual exhaust kit, will the pipes line up with the cutouts of the GT Bumper I will also install?? I sure hope so!!
When it comes to the rear pipes, you may want to take it to a custom shop like I did. I did the true dual exaust thing many moons ago and just went with a complete custom exaust. He welded on really nice chrome ends and did a really great job. Sounds like a V8 as well. That could be due to all my mods as well. I have a slight cam lift and 1.8:1 billet rockers amound other stuff of course. I don't have a GT bumper but the guy lined up the pipes and come out just a hair below the bumper in a place where I suppose I could put a GT bumper on it and they would line up I'm pretty sure from the way it looks. Although I wouldn't because of the way he made it look, I just like it. He did some special bends on the pipe he made himself there at their shop of course to make it look like it does. I have a feeling you may have a problem doing this yourself without the right pipe bender etc... You could try it yourself of course by laying out the parts on the floor to see if you can tell if they would line up approx. etc... as well. Not sure. You could also call up the place where you bought the kit and ask them that question. Just my .02 worth.
As far as doing what you did to your Mustang, its too late for me to do the same because I aready have the Magnaflow kit and the GT Bumper. At this point I can only go forward, lol. I guess I will find out if the pipes will line up with the cutouts when I do the install. I was just curious if anyone already knew the answer. Thanks for the advise, though
Well...worked all afternoon installing the GT bumper first, then the Magnaflow dual exhaust kit. Guess what....Everything fit perfect and it came out great. Although, me and my son busted our asses working on our backs with the car only elevated about a foot and a half off the ground. Perfect time for "Murphys Law" to kick in and I was half expecting it, but Murphy was a no-show, lol. Thanks all for the advise!!!!!
