map light electrical source

well... im looking to hard wire my valentine v1 to the stang and i need to know if the map light can be used as the source for my hardwire installation? i believe i need a 12v source and instead of running a ton of wire, this would be a very stealth place to mount the RD and also put the wire when not in use or if i should get pulled over a place to stach the wire when the officer looks in. if jrichker is out there i was hoping he could post a wire diagram, or hissin if you know?

without pulling each fuse and looking, I would suppose
if it can run an incandesent light it can run your
equipment.
