Has anyone used it? I'm curious as to what kind of results it gives. I've always been a fan of Meguiar's products so I'll probably pick up a bottle of the stuff and try it out.
I've read some good stuff about it and have seen a few pics of the after that were posted on here. I picked up a bottle at Wal Mart last night so I'll be trying it out tomorrow.
i have it. easy to apply and wipes off with little dust. i would describe the shine as hard. makes sonic blue look darker. personally, i like gold class better. gold class sparkles more in the sun and has a deeper luster at least to me.
I used NXT and was very happy with the results. I use the 3-step process but this time i did cleaner and NXT and the car looked just as good. NXT really brings out the color.
Sweet. It looks like I'll be picking up a bottle at Walmart. They also carry the NXT spray detailer I think.
The NXT Spray Wax is NOT a quick detailer. It can only be used on a clean car with no dust. It is a wax booster, basically a more liquid version of the Tech Wax. If you read the directions on the bottle you spray it on, work it in with an applicator, let it haze and then wipe it off.
Bob, after I go to Dent Wizard tomorrow (by the way, how much did your 4 dents cost for repair?), I'm going to prep/wax. My paint is in pretty good condition, but there may be some swirls. Now that I've noticed you've tried NXT, what is your ultimate recommendation? Should I go 9, 7, then NXT...or...ScratchX (which I already have), 7, NXT or 26? Thanks again for your help.
I got a really good deal on the original 4 from the dealer I bought the car from. They charged me $79 for all 4. The latest one cost me $65 I do believe. I think most places charge by the panel rather than the dent. I have found the price varies widely so it is really hard to give you a good idea of what you are going to pay. If you have swirls and access to #9 swirl mark remover than I would definitely prep with that. ScratchX is really designed for spot work rather than doing the entire car. I have heard a lot of people use a glaze like #7 show car glaze or #81 hand polish under NXT but, I didn't put anything under it. All I did was wash the car with NXT Tech Wash and then Wax with NXT Tech Wax. NXT Tech Wax is really easy to use and seems pretty durable. I am very pleased with it. I am torn though between NXT and my favorite combo (#7,#26). I would say give NXT a try and see how you like it.
Well I tried it out today and here are my very amateur thoughts. I washed it like normal, followed by drying with my normal water absorber. Then I clayed it. I couldn't believe how dirty my car still was after washing. It took me a few minutes to get used to the clay but once I got the hang of it it took out all the tar/specs of paint/bugs and all the other stains I had. Then I washed again like normal and dryed normal. Then I put on a layer of #7. I've used 7 before and I really like the results although to me it does take a little work to get it off. I used a thin layer on a cool day (about 60, low humidity) in the shade. I used microfiber towels to remove. Next I did my NXT. I love how you just spread a thin layer and then wait 10-15 minutes before removing. This allowed me to do the car in halves. Again I used microfiber to remove the wax. My thoughts afterwards (oh yeah and it took me 5 hours) were that for the effort involved is well worth it. My car is cleaner now than it has been in the two years since I bought it. The paint still has imperfections like minor scratches so next time I will address those. All in all I'm very pleased with the clay/NXT and the microfiber. I used the Wal-mart towels too, very nice imo. Oh and not to drag on but I went to Autozone and asked the kid if they carried a claybar kit since I didn't see any on the shelf. He looked puzzled for a minute, speechless, then asked me if it was a tool. I laughed and said no and explained what it was. Then magically he knew what it was....or so he thought. He told me his buddy had to go to South Carolina to buy some and he didn't think it was made anymore. I said uhm yeah right and left, drove 2 minutes to Advance and bought my claybar
I never thought of that, got plenty of clay in the back yard. I'll have to pack some up and take it to Autozone and see if I can sell it #7 is a little finicky but, the look is well worth the exta effort. You might also try #81 hand polish. #7 was originally designed for single stage paints and #81 for clear coats. They are both glazes. #81 is a tad easier to use than #7.
