Anyone purchase Maximum Motorsports super long sub-frames? Mine are in the process of being shipped and I am wondering what the avg cost of getting them welded in is? How much did you guys pay?
I got the MM Full length subs installed for $75 at a muffler shop, just make sure they use a drive-on lift so the car want be flexed and has the proper weight on all 4 corners.
I think I paid 120, or something like that. I got the full length sub frame connectors. But I don't know anything about the super-long sub frames (is that for a stretch limo 'stang?) Wherever you go to get them welded in, make sure they use a muffler life (lifts by the tires, not by jacking points). That's the only way you can be sure the connectors are welded in without the car contorted out of shape due to the lift. And BTW, since you have a 'vert (I do too), you will appreciate the subframes - considerably less Jello brand jiggling over bumps.
Well I didn't go with full lengths but boy what a diff! It cost me $120 to have my sfc's and catback installed.. My only regret is not going full length cause I can only imagine how good they feel..
Jacob, I can't imagine you would notice much difference between your and full length connectors. I went full length because they offer some added stiffening, becuase all connectors (short or long) are cheap compared to the improvement, and because I didn't want to ever think (like you) man I should have got the long ones. I mean, who would want to rip off short connectors for long ones, that's nuts. But anyway, I would guess there is a marginal difference. Certainly nothing like the difference between stock and your set up now.
Oh yeah theres no way I'd pull these off just to get longer ones.. maybe if I win the lottery.. but just wondering how big of a diff it really would be
One of the main reasons I got them is the jello over bumps! the reason why I said extra long is because the new model subs are supposedly longer then their previous full length subs
Well I got them installed but I was slightly disappointed in the subs they shipped me. When the mechanic went to line up the subs on a lift one sub frame fit perfectly while the other was bent towards the ground to much. I did not feel like shipping it back, so they threw on some spacers that came with the kit to cover the distance. Other then that, im loving subs, noticed it the most during hard cornering
I think the fit issue actually owes to Ford production tolerances, that or maybe your car was improperly lifted by the subframes and bent out of shape a bit. I had that on one side too, and mine was a slightly bent subframe. Anyway, if they fit it on with the supplied stuff, then you are golden. Notice much difference?
