My friend gave me a 1987 5.0 5-spd LX HB as a wedding present (God Bless the man), and now I have quite a bit of a project on my hands. The car's in good shape mechanically, but he had pulled the interior out of the car to prep for paint. Well, the car's primered now, but once I get it painted I'm going to want to put the interior back together nicely, so it looks brand new. My problem is that I have all the interior trim pieces, weatherstripping, door panels, etc... but they are all in boxes and otherwise scattered inside the car. Some of the pieces are obvious (center console, kick panels), and I've managed to identify a few other parts, but some of the pieces have just got me trying to figure out what they are. I've looked all over the net for thorough pictures of the interior of HB 87-93s (especially of the hatch area behind the rear seats) but I haven't had much luck. Does anyone know where I can begin on my quest for identifying all these parts? Pointers to pictures or interior parts identification guides would be most helpful. Thanks!
right off hand i would say to use a haynes manual for you car. that might get you somewhere. pretty cheap books...$16.00 at auto zone....and good to have laying around.
Thanks! I have a Chilton's for my car, which is great for mechanical work, but not so great for interior and trim. I'll check out Haynes too.
a possibility, check with your local ford dealer, he may be able to print pic(s) of exploded views of your interior from their parts software.
yeah, definately check out 50resto.com for any parts you would need... and get that manual for your car, you can find it at any autozone, advance auto, etc... they help greatly
