I have a 650 speed demon on my car, the problem is that when i first start it up it doesnt want to run. it pops through the carb and you have to keep pedling it to keep it going. after it gets to operating temp it idles and runs fine, but if you let it sit for about an hour it does the samething. called tech at BG they told me to put a choke on it , that didnt help. my timing is set @14 degrees, 7lbs of fuel pressure. 10:1 compression. cam has .565 lift. duration @ .050 is 230/234. I dont know if it needs to be adjusted more or what . if you have any ideas let me know.

thanks,Dan

99% of the time you get popping through the carb, it's timing. Do you have a vacuum advance? Have you verified that the timing increases with engine speed?

Just throwing it out there but could it be an intake valve adjusted to tight? Maybe its not closing and you are getting some compression back though intake? I would back the timing off a little and see if it helps any first however.
