I can get an 86 tbird turbo car for a donor for a Mustang upgrade.

Can someone give me the ins and outs of the 86? Its a 5 speed.

Any reason not to use this one?

Appreciate any input before I buy it!

    Thanks.

No reason not to use an '86 really...although they were non-intercooled, they had the .60/.63 T3, 35 lb injectors, "square" intake, basically all the good stuff.

Might need a better computer since they were only rated for 160 hp I think, but it's got the good hardware.

Unfortunately the '86 doesn't have the disc brake 8.8 or any of that...

Thanks. I was not looking for much else on the car beside the complete turbo setup.

If its still there this weekend, I'm going shopping.

You should consider looking at the rear end.

    8.8 rear > 7.5 rear.

86 works fine, I have an 86 in an 88 mustang now.

Look for an LA3 & intercooler as first "upgrade"
