Hey everyone. I'm new here and figured I'd introduce myself. Name is Anthony. I'm 19 and own and race a 1999 Ford Mustang GT. I got my mustang in Sept. 2006after returning home from 9 weeks in the hospital due to being paralyzed from the chest down from a Motocross accident. I'm still paralyzed from the chest down with little feeling no movement below. At the time I bought the mustang I knew little to nothing about drag racing or mustang but have always loved them. After buying mine stock and adding about $6000 mods and installing nearly all of them (including the cams) I know much more. I try to stay positive and constantly find ways of upgrading and changing the looks and performance of my stang. My mods are in my sig. Since I can't drive a stick due to my left foot as well as the other 70% of my body being limp (lol), it's an automatic. It ran a 13.7 @100. After a tune it dynoed at 262 rwhp @ 5800 and 268 rwtq @3800. I'll attach a few pictures. Thanks for reading. I'm looking forward to meeting some fellow Mustang addicts!
No shame in driving the auto - I drive one as well, as do many others on the boards here. Ride looks nice, but those torque numbers sure do look low. What type of cams did you put in?
hey guys, thanks. my 60' ranges from a 2.0 to 2.1. i noticed that most similar mustang are putting atlesat 20-40rwtq than me. i think it's due to the 70mm t/b, plenum and cam specs. the cams are Comp Cams 262AH .550 lift and 226/230 duration. stock is somewhere around .485 and 190/195 i beleive. if you look at my dyno sheet the i'm making an almost dead even peak power from 5500 to 6400.
70mm should be more than enough with the 262 cams - I am currently running the same CAI as you are but am very displeased with it. Really high intake temps - aluminum isn't too good for ducting air through a hot engine compartment. I have a JLT CAI on the way, inch wider diameter composite pipe that dips way down into the fenderwell - I'll let ya know if it's worth the upgrade. A new intake manifold would really wake up those cams as well. I had the Typhoon which seemed to wake my non-camm'd up a lot in the upper stretches of the tach.
Nice Ride. I usually can't stand the cobra r wings but for some reason with your setup it looks pretty clean. I like the side scoops too. Welcome
cams will rob a lil tq ranging to a good deal of tq down low in the rpm's depending on the stage, but 262's are mild; and actually cams shouldn't effect peak toque too much as it peaks a good deal past the area where you see the deficit.
Welcome to :SNSign: bro... Nice stang you got there!!! Those shelby wheels look great & I have yet to see those on a 99-04!!!
