Hello all, I hadn't intended to trade in my DD beater 94 Accord, but an encounter with a piece of semi-truck debris changed my mind. I had wanted a new Corvette, but am not quite ready for that yet - new baby in the house and my wife has not returned to work yet. So last night I picked up a 2008 Vista Blue Mustang GT/CS. I had to dig around to find one without the Appearance Package, as I am not a big fan of hood scoops. 47 miles on it, now, and I really like it. This is my fourth Mustang, having previously owned a '90 5.0L vert, 97 GT vert and 98 Cobra. I had sworn off Mustangs after the 98 spent more time in the shop than on the road, but I really love my 08. I am also restoring a 67 Camaro SS, so I guess I play both sides of the Ford/Chevy card, with some Honda thrown in (wife's Pilot). Glad to be here! Robert
I'm probably not the only one, but I'd like to see some shots of the vista cs.. Congrats on the new ride, that coming from a chevy/ford fence rider as well. I have an 07 chevy Avalanche as my dd which leaves eleanor purely for fun times.
Welcome and congratulations on all three aspects - Baby, no one was injured in from the road debris and the new Stang. Some of the best things in life come from challenges. Nice to have another Chevy/Ford fence rider in the family. There are a handful of us on here. ~Jenn~
While we certainly do not condone owning non-Fords in our household anymore (my wife and I both work at a Ford dealership), I must confess that I owned a 1968 Pontiac GTO for 9 years, as well as a 1972 Chevy Nova (with a transplanted '66 Vette 427 under the hood). Owned a few other non-Fords along the way, but have owned 6 Mustangs & 3 Thunderbirds. Wazoo151, congrats on the new GT/CS. Great looking car that you'll certainly love more and more everyday.
I will post some pics when I can take some out in the sun - it was near 9 when I got home last night! As for the Corvette, you bet I still plan on owning one, it'll just have to wait a while. Chevy really got the C6 right, and with the improvements on the 08 model, it's a gem. Maybe when my daughter goes off to college in 4 years. In the meantime, I am going to enjoy the Mustang. Now it's just a matter of which mod comes first! Robert
Congrats wazoo! Very nice color choice I must say My Stang has been on the road 99.9% of the time. I'm a few dozen miles away from turning 32K(less than 14 months old)and it has only been in the shop once early last fall for a bent rocker arm.
