I just installed new Steeda Street Performance Brake Pads on the 03 Cobra fronts. Man do they squeak and squeal.
In similar threads (yeah I used the Search) many have said the Hawk HPS pads make a squealing sound. So I figure that these are either the same pads with a different name or are very similar in brake compound.
Only thing is these make the squeaking noise even when the brakes are not applied. The rotors were turned and sanded w/ light 220(?) grit sand paper. This isn't the 1st time we installed new brakes on a Stang and gotten a squeal out of 'em, but this time it's different.
The squeak is repeating at about the same speed as the tire/wheel rotates. I wonder if the rotors were on exactly striaght or whatever?
Is this a problem, or will it work itself out once the brakes have been worn down a little?
