I'm getting ready to swap out my aod for a tremec and was wondering if the trans needs a special break in procedure. i live in nj and will be doing the job in NYC so i'm going to have to cruise on the parkway on the way back. Will i have to be in the right lane with my hazards on going 40 mph or does it not need a break in period? thanks

Be gentle on it at first, how it is broken in makes a difference in how they last in my experience.

Mine came with a sticker on it saying basicly to be gentle for the first 500 miles, then change the fluid out and your set.

I'm with cardudeusa - drive it like there was a traffic cop or your mother-in-law setting in the car with you for the first 500 miles. Then change the fluid and go have some fun. The Tremec's all use 2 3/4 quarts of GM Manual Syncromesh (black bottle) at about $10 a quart, so save some $$ for the oil change.
