I recently installed a BBK CAI w/Brenspeed SCT tune and decided to put it to the test................... I started from a dead stop and launched it (traction control off). Much to my surprise there was NO wheel hop - just screeching tires and a quick redline of the engine (6,200 before I knew it) - SWEET! I had a 2005 Mustang GT hardtop with a CAI and tune and the wheel hop was terrible (with stock 3.55 and 4.10 gears - both bad)! Is there something different on the vert other than the two under frame rails that are there for added rigidity? Maybe they make the difference?
I've had that happen to me a few times even in my coupe. I think it just depends on the road conditions, weather conditions, and tire temp personally. I could be completely off base, but I have had perfectly good launches w/ zero wheel hop with the stock lca's before.
