Hey guys, kinda have a problem with my 2001 v6 mustang 59000 miles. Everytime when go uphill and press the pedal little bit harder...a kind of rattling noise comes up. Goes away when I put the car in neutral or when I'm going below 2000rpm. I know it's hard to diagnose stuff over the net...but maybe u guys can help. The car doesn't shake or loose performance in any way...the noise sounds similar to putting a paper card in the a fan... Thanx in advance...Rheno
Mine does it too...always has. Its probably just bogging the engine and/or tranny down under load @ too low of an rpm. I either just back out of the throttle a little and slowly accelerate up the hill or downshift to pick up the rpms.
that sound... no it's also when the engine is not cold anymore...i tried using a higher octane...didn't help. i have auto trans...it just irritates me, that sound...gonna check it out at the dealer probably...by the way is it hard to install a chip?
Sounds like classic spark knock to me....if you're trying 93 oct and it still does it maybe you need new plugs?
