So I have the PI intake ordered for my 98 NPI auto GT. The old stock intake finally cracked and I had to replace it. The kit that I have ordered says that it includes everything needed in order to do the swap. Only thing is it says it includes the gaskets needed, but doesn't say if they are the NPI or PI gaskets. I know that the PI gaskets are better, and that's what type I'm going to put on the car, but if the kit doesn't contain the correct type, I want to go ahead and order the correct ones. I was wondering if there is any way you can tell the difference in NPI and PI gaskets by looking at them. Anyone know for sure?
The PI / NPI gaskets are visibly different. Whose kit did you purchase? You must use the PI gaskets so I'd think that is what is coming with your kit. Attached is the PI gasket and then the NPI gasket (Felpro images from Autozone.) I actually used 2001 Gt OEM gaskets from Ford.
Yea, from what I have read, the PI gaskets is undoubtedly the way to go. It's a kit off of ebay from a shop down in Florida called Custom Mustangs. I have a picture that they show on ebay attached. I think it looks like the PI gasket.
thats the same exact kit i bought from custom mustang, and it come with PI gaskets, and beleive it or not, my buddy just ordered his today, it was $299 plus shipping.........
Those are the PI gaskets from Custom Mustang of Florida. It's a nice kit that comes with the cooling port sealant complete. Have fun and good luck!
