How the heck is that even possible? Luck doesn't begin to describe that. So I guess this wouldn't exactly be the best commercial for the "Buckle up for safety" campaign eh? I wonder what actually would have happened if he had been in that seat?

Was that car made out of paper-mache and window screen or something? Even the rearend seperated from it on the first roll! I doubt it even had shocks installed to hold it together from the way it was handling before the crash.

jusdging from the way the car came apart i'd say it was a major rust bucket and that he probably was wearing a seat belt and the seat was bolted in, the floor was just so rusty that whatever was attached to it just broke free really easy. seriously, i doubt that the car would even pass tech otherwise. obviously it's just a guess, though.

Every time I race my car I spend a solid half hour underneath it doing a routine nut and bolt.....

That car came apart! Makes me wonder when I was running my car when it was a rust bucket.....

Check and recheck those belts!!

This is like many cars that have come to me. A lot of people do things just to make it look legal. So they install their seats and belts with lag screws, or slightly better bolts and nuts without washers straith throught the floorpan. ALWAYS mounts these to a SOLID piece of the frame and ALWAYS use a LARGE, THICK washer. There's no point in doing it at all if you don't do it right.
