Hey folks - I was fortunate enough to pick up a beautiful 2001 Mineral Grey sc convertible from a guy in Michigan who apparently never drove it - had 5,800 miles on it and is in pristine condition! Anyway, I've noticed a leak right around the supercharger body - there's a "gap" towards the front where the screw meets the body and a small amount of oil is collecting in this gap. My questions - I'm assuming this is not normal? Should I not drive the car until this is repaired? This car is definitely not my daily driver so want to take care of it right away. Any suggestions to locate the problem, or can someone recommend a quality Saleen dealer in Cincinnati that I could have check it out? Much thanks... Bob
I am not sure if you have the same problem I had, but the bolts that hold the SC to the intake manifold were loose on my car. I have heard of other people with the same problem with the bolts working there way loose. Make sure to periodically check them.
My 01 gt with a saleen SC I have gone through two gaskets on my throttle body to hopefully fix the leak but later found out from a friend that my TB was warped so I drilled out the bolt holes on the TB and the mount on the sc to fit bolts and nuts. Also used some thicker gasket material.
