Hey guys I just got my new oil pump today and am installing it. Quick question I can't remember if the gasket between the pickup and pump, and the gasket between the pump and the block is a supposed to be a dry or oiled seal. Let me know guys so that I may commence with this crap for the last time. (this is the third ****ing time I have had to drop my oil pan.

its usually a paper gasket, comes in the gasket-pack. Install and go.

I know, but what about the surface? Should I clean off the oil with some laquer thinner or just leave the oil be and place the gasket on the oil surfaces?

I install them clean out of habit. Its good practice, but they will get soaked with oil anyway.

Okay cool, I also install most things clean unless otherwise directed like an oil filter, I just wanted to make sure that wouldn't cause problems.
