    I have a 06 GT...only mods are UD's an dlower springs.

Which tune do I want...bamachips or brenspeed?? I want the JLT CAI but cant decide between the two since they both have great reputations for quality service and quality progaming...she's my daily driver, might see cams later, and maybe a intake if they ever come out with one...no bottle, no blow, strictly N/A.... thanks

Bamachips race tune is where it's at. Brenspeed's tunes are good, too, but I gained .3 in the 1/4 by switching to Bama's race tune.

    I use the brenspeed tune.

I noticed a significant improvement from the ford motorsports tune I had previously. I have not tried Bamachips.

I keep the tuner in the car and flash to 87 for commuting and switch to 93 at the pump when I want to have some fun. Very drivable.
    I get 27mpg @65 on 87
    I get 12.6-12.7 @106 on 93

I am also impressed with Brenspeed's customer service. I have called many times and asked ALOT of questions and they have always been very helpful and knowledgeable.

For street use you may not care but, I was a bit disappointed about the Brenspeed tune because the traction control is locked out (liability). The stock X3 tune can keep the traction control off. The brenspeed tune requires you to remember to turn it off on the dash. Not a big deal, but I look so silly stalling in the burnout box :)

Not too worried about the traction control as mines still active. Thanks for the info... your getting 26mph with 4.10's?? thats better then my mpg right now... I think I need to replace my spark plugs (57,000 miles). I changed the fuel filter 8,000 miles ago...

Doug at Bamachips is great to deal with. I ran my car with the performance 93 tune and picked up significant mph and time over stock. I really like the torque tune for driving around. I am anxioius to see if the torque tune is actually faster as it feels strong.

I have nothing but great things to say about Doug at Bamachips! He was fantastic to work with on my tune and order. I just switched from the 89 torque tune to the 93 race tune and holy hell what a difference! While getting on the highway with the 89 tune was fun, this 93 race tune is damn near scary. I absolutely love paying 15 cents a gallon more for this kind of fun! :D

Yup :D I think it has something to do with the gear putting less load on the motor.
    I run around 2250 RPM at 65mph
If I use the cruise control at 65 I hit 26-27 mpg.
about 35k miles on the car, original plugs , new fluids and filters

Before you do the plugs read the thread

I cruise at 70mph at around 2100rpms and with cruise control I only get 24 mpg!!!

I have read about the spark plug change from hell... been putting it off for that reason alone. I though about paying the dealership to do it but I almost prefer to take the chances and do it myself and take my time since if the dealership screws up I will still have to pay them to fix it... plus no arguing over using anti-seize on the new plugs as I have some in the garage for my 91's heads.

I run the 93 race tune all the time. I've tried all the other ones and they're just not as fun. The touchy throttle takes a few days to get used to on the street, but after a few days, no problem. :nice:

You guys are convincing me to get that bamachips tune asap. I already love the car. Why not have more power or better fuel economy?

    +1 for Bamachips!

That was a handful the first few days! Esp with the auto and 4.10s:eek: If the roads are wet, it's nearly impossible to not have the tires spin. The throttle response with the race tune is phenomenal! I've stepped it back down to 87 now and it seems I could fall asleep while waiting for the car to move, BUT Doug's 87 tune is quite nice as it still puts down 280/290 for me:nice:

KoolDawg...your getting 280hp and 290tq on the tune without UDP's?? I have looking at running the 89tq tune for the most part...thats if gas prices stay low. I drive around 70 miles a day and most is stop and go so I go through gas like its beer.

I plan on giving him a shot next year, to see if it's any better than my Bamachips tune. I'm sure VMP's tunes are good, but I can't see it out performing my current tune. My best is a 13.1 with mild bolt-ons and 3.31's. There's not a whole lot left in the tune to better that, and I can't imagine better throttle response.

I was actually going to buy one for the '05 because I'm still running a Brenspeed tune on that car and it seems mild, but I'm selling it.

A local guy here is running 12.80s with a K&N intake and VMP 93 octane tune. No other mods.

Last I heard he got into the 12.7s with some suspension.
