Im looking for a new mod and im thinking a short throw is the way to go. Ive heard good things about the MGW orange handle. How easy is this thing to install? Should I get the dust boot too?

I too have an MGW ornge short throw and it works awesome....The install is quite simple and takes 15 minutes. You don't need a new dust boot either.

    MGW FTMFW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can do the install blindfolded with one hand, in the rain, while getting a bj, in about 15 min.

I've had UPR, tri-ax, and MGW - also have driven on a pro-5.0 many times. MGW by far is the most refined, balanced, adjustable, and accurate shifter I've used in these cars. The UPR was more like a stock replacement that just wasn't quite as sloppy lol... Tri-ax is notchy and stiff, pro-5.0 is also notchy and has really short throws with a long reach.

MGW certainly does make the quietest shifter, though. The base is extra thick and really quiets down noisy 1st and 2nd gears.

i have a UPR and love it. Though it onl;y cost $75 new.

I would highly suggest making some gaskets out of high tempertature silicone to go between the tranny and shifter. Then between the shifter and handle.

Dramatically cuts down on noise and heat transfer.

    Install is a breeze!

For performance and feel, MGW is the only one to ever consider. For looks, the whole Roush setup looks incredible (to me at least).

If only someone would make a boot that would show off the MGW nicely
