Looky what I just did today... To those who will ask -- I haven't decided for sure that the '95 is actually for sale, even though it says so in my sig. I don't owe much of anything on it now, so I may keep it for awhile Dave
The new mustangs dont really work for me that well. I heard that ford made it where they wont respond that well with mods... Any truth behind this?
Cool man. I noticed it last weekend that you were ordering a new Mustang. If you don't owe any/much on your '95, I would keep it. That is just me though. BTW, that is a great looking color.
That's just rumor and speculation, and a lot of people have been wrong so far in predicting things about the '05. Ford knows very well that Mustang owners mod their cars, and they will not alienate the market by making it hard to mod. Remember that the same exact thing was rumored about the '96 Mustangs before they came out. It was wrong then... And speaking of rumors, it sounds like the 3V 4.6L may be putting down around 290 rwhp stock. Just think what it would do with a Kenne Bell... Dave
Sweet, that sould be a great looking car man! I love the looks of the 4th gen. Mustang! Be sure to post pics here as soon as you get it!!! Jakob
CONGRATULATIONS... that's a sweet looking car. Is the one in the pic the exact one? cuz it's sweet especially with the stripes can i ask how much it set you back?
No, that's not the exact one. That picture was originally a Motor Trend shot of the silver one that Ford was bringing to all the shows earlier this year. Ford put the stripes on it as part of the "Trilogy of Power" (Mustang GT, Shelby Cobra concept, and Ford GT -- all were silver with stripes). It's been photoshopped to approximate mineral grey as closely as I can get it. Ford won't be offering racing stripes from the factory -- but for about $250 I'll be adding them soon after I buy it . Mine will also have different wheels, and the interior is red leather instead of the black in that picture. Edit: This is exactly what my interior will look like, in fact: I don't know yet, Ford hasn't released pricing, they usually do that just before JOB1. I expect MSRP for what I've ordered to be right about $26,800, and I will be getting it for a little over invoice, so maybe $25k or so . Dave
Congrats Yeah, I heard that too about 290 to the wheels. So, I read up on the 3-valve engine and it looks like any poweradder would make the new engine a real beast. The heads flow alot of air and it would seem difficult not to get good results from modifications. It might be trickier at first to deal with the computer, but you know some guys have already worked a way around that.
Ford sent engineers out to NMRA events to ask hardcore guys like us what they wanted the new mustang to be like. I don't think they would intentionally make it harder for us to mod them. Kurt
yeah Dave!...that thing is gonna be sick!...cant wait for you to go Vette hunting in your stock GT! i think you should send the 95 over here to the East coast...preferably Poughkeepsie NY...mine would like a buddy to hang out in the garage with Anthony
That's awesome! Congrats on the big order. I have been messing with the idea of that myself - but just can't seem to commit to it! That's great though - definitely post some pics when it comes in. Any idea of an arrival date?
Awesome! It's a great feeling isn't it? Can't wait to see some performance #'s from you and your mod list. Are there even mods availiable for the 05's yet?
Congrats on the score Dave. They should be pretty sweet, but I wonder what the torque curve is going to be like? Same as the 4V? I can also see where people come from about making them hard to mod. There will probably so much electronic chit on here that it will be hard to do anything without wacking out the computer. It will still have all the "Mustang" parts that enthusiasts like to swap out: 8.8 rear, MAF, TB, cams, pulleys, shifters, probably heads and intake manifolds down the line, headers, H-pipes, and catback exhaust stuff. You should be able to mod it up a little bit... They sure do look sweet though! Joe
I think your going to a very similar situation to the how the 4.6 is today...its gonna be slow at first, but im sure it will pick up...id be interested to see aftermarket heads for them...i bet the heads are designed well enough to make PLENTY of power Anthony
