I want to know what kind of gains on a 99+ would I get by p/p the heads and adding some SHM n/a cams. I would have the car dyno tuned.. And if anyone out there have a done this or something close to the same , please post your numbers and mods. Also on your thoughts about doing this mod ? thanks for your time..

Good road to N/A power. You should see around the 300 rwhp mark with exaust. Cost can vary widely depending if your going to a shop or DIY. I have cams with stock heads and am getting 280 rwhp with just cams, and a longtube back o/r exaust.

I know there are more of you guys out there ,, was hoping to get the numbers from someone that has done the whole p/p & cams thing....

Stage 1 N/A cams alone will give you 20rwhp
Stage 1 P&P will give you another 20rwhp..

from your BENCH RACING experience it's advertised

both together makes way more than 25rwhp. I guess following your method i can say with a supercharger 25rwhp can easily be made and be safe about saying it huh? So no one is disappointed

i was looking to buy som already p and p, pi heads myself for my 02 gt. very expensive but they advertise about 300 hp with their cams. i don't know if that is rwhp, or flywheel. anyway is it bad on the engine to run cams, do they wear? how about stage 1 to stage 2 p&p, any difference as to how hard on the engine?................sorry for butting in but i need some info on the same subject. :nice:

now, i don't know about 300rwhp with JUST cams. Because a stock 02GT ranges around 220-235rwhp stock. that's a 75rwhp gain. On a blown application it's more believable but expect that with Cams and P&P. Not Cams alone.

sorry that 300 is with both p&p and cams sory i wasnt clear. however that cost about 1900 bucks before install. im really concerned with reliability of my car after that. i need to know more info on this before i spend that kind of money.

you have no idea how much power you can get from p&p heads and cams with out knowing who the company that does the work on the heads

and have you ever thought that to much hurts power with the stock short block on a n/a motor

oh and if your so sure on how much power heads and cams make then why are you on modulardepot asking how much they make

what happened here ,,, this was just a question..

At 300 or right around sounds about right ,, after dyno tune. Got another question ,, why do most people think that when you are going to p/p your heads and put some n/a cams that you are never going to add a blower someday? I know that with a blower its better to have blower cams but n/a has to be better than stock with a blower. And for me the cost of doing the heads and cams would not cost 1,900,, I already have a extra set of pi heads and to have them p/p from a local shop is around 700 bucks ,, the shm cams go for 549 and a good dyno tune and chip is around 350... and I have not been able to find a blower for that price and if you do that not with injectors, gagues, etc.. Just my thought ,, but if anyone else have done this set up and have dyno numbers please let me know.

    thanks for the replys !!
