Not sure if this is the best place for this post, the mods can move it if need be.

I'm interested in doing my own paintjob eventually. And maybe even side business if I ever get decent at it. I've worked in an auto body shop for a few months, so I know a lot of basic things. I did prep work for painting, which I hear is half the battle.

1. I'm looking for a good book and maybe a video.
2. Looking for supplies. Specifically spray guns and each type (primer, base, clear) if they are not multi purpose. Also how much should I spend on a gun. I've seen the different ranges, and there are cheap to very expensive.

At first I would practice on parts, and my friend has an old truck I'm going to work on. So basically I'm just looking for some recommendations to start.

Thanks.

Get a gravity feed spray gun they drop the paint in from the top they are pretty good. Other then that practice a hell of a lot and study up on it. Make sure you get a real steady hand that way you dont make the paint run.
