After I did a solid axle swap with a 97 Cobra my parking brake cable is to short. I adjusted it at the center console area and its as loose as I can get it and its still to tight. The brake pads drag a little on the pads when I drive. What should I do buy the 99+ GT parking brake cables.

Sounds like the original ones are just a little too short. You might try getting the cables from a stang with a solid axle at a salvage yard and save a little cash. Dragging brakes will make the car feel less powerful.. I had a dragging rear caliper on one side and I didn't notice the difference until I replaced it. If the rotors are getting hot after only a short drive, I'd definately look into getting the right cable for it.
