yeah its once a year here in NJ, whenever your renew your registration you have to get reinspected. NJ also followed Cali harsh rules so it can be a PITA here...makes me wanna move.
thats strange, i get it every 2 years here in NJ. maybe because of the year of the cars? they just plug into the computer for mine. if its not throwin any codes you pass. needless to say, i wouldnt pass anyway, so i have to pay $150 to get it done.
Just go get some burnt up cats, gut them, and weld the shells around your pipes You will pass visual inspection, but not the sniffer. Once a year in TX. Always be sure to do the 13 month trick, example: Your inspection expires 12/2006, go on 01/01/2007 and get it inspected. Then next year, go on 02/01/2008. It's kinda like a Buy 12 Get 1 Free deal...hahaha

Not here in Jersey, no matter when you go, it still expires when you were have supposed to go. I was supposed to go in Oct. 04, which would be good until Oct. 06. I didn't go until July 31 of 06 (almost 2 years late), and still got a sticker that expired Oct. 06. Good news was they said if I had done it a day later, it could have been for the next 2 years (you can go 2 months early now), so I went back and reinspected the next day and got a sticker good til Oct. 08. And I have since met someone who can hook me up when that time comes.
