I'm in the process of throwing some PI heads on a friend's 97 Crown Vic, and I was wondering if there were any performance head gaskets available for these engines. I had some copper head gaskets on a 302 once, that bumped the compression a bit, and wanted something similar. Any ideas?
Only if the WANT a drop in compression ratio, most use the standard modular head gaskets......if you want a small bump-up in comp ration, take some material off the deck of the heads, but be very carefull as you could get into PTV issues......
The heads were slightly warped, so the shop is milling a tiny bit off for us anyways. I think I'll just order those Felpro MLS gaskets as Droptop suggested
Im just using FRPP head gasktes on my build, they've worked on ford's engines for 200k miles just fine. So i dont see why to buy other ones
