I haven't read every thread posted on this forum so this may have already been posted.

I was imagining for a lineup to inlcude the already known V6 and GT models. I'm dreaming of Boss 302 with the Cammer motor around the $32k price point as a GTO killer. Then a ~500hp Cobra with a s/c 5.4 4v around the $40k price point to take on the C6. Does this seem realistic? Maybe even put out the Boss 302 with IRS one year and then a Mach 1 with the Cammer and a solid rear another year. Just dreaming.

Good plan except Ford has stated the 5.0L Cammer is a race only engine and will never be used in a production car. If I can remember where I read that, I'll post a link (providing it was an online source).

I assume you're trying to say that there will be no more SVT Mustang Cobra's. If so, you are mis-informed. There will be no SHELBY COBRAS. There will be many more SVT Cobras. In fact, the part of the reason there will be no Shelby Cobra may be due to the fact that the Cobra name is used by SVT. So expect a 2007 model year SVT mustang cobra, probably released in summer 2006!

My suspicion/hope for future lineup would be:

Boss: probably a hi-po 4.6 4V rather than the cammer (350-375hp), tight 6spd MTX, uprated chassis with big brakes and IRS, styling based on GTR racer, $30-32K.

Mach I: 5.4 3V with shaker hood (375-400hp), 5spd MTX and ATX, live axle, bigger brakes, style somewhat similar to current Mach I. $28-30K

Cobra: SC 5.4 4V (450-500hp), 6spd MTX, very uprated chassis with monster brakes and IRS, lots of interior upgrades, very unique yet subtle and refined styling (more like the Concept Stang?), $40-45K.

Bullitt???: Maybe, perhaps the Mach's motor with the Boss's chassis all in a very subtle and refined exterior/interior - highland green of course. $30-32K.

I think we are all way too optimistic in the current future. Ford is just begining the 05 Mustang which was completely redesigned. I don't see them in any hurry to push out special edition Mustangs unless the 05 flops (which it won't). With the future of the Cobra already a definite (although no details), i don't see Ford having much reason to push any other special Mustangs. I doubt that there will be a Mach1 and a BOSS model at the same time unless there is some way they can justify the cost, or they become more body kits on the same type car with similar Hp producing engine.

Who knows i just want to get the BOSS name back on a Mustang and it be one made by Ford. I hope some sort of BOSS 302 is made, or even BOSS 351, i doubt the BOSS 429 will ever come into production again.

Since many companies follow similar business practices, i think i remember the 6 or 7 year system is what it was called. So look for the new 05 model to be around for 6-7 years with no major tweeks (except possible engines). 05 GT, 07 Cobra, 08 BOSS. I see Ford putting out something in 07 and 08 if the Cobra goes for 500hp. There will be other cars like the Camaro, 07 GTO and possible other competitors coming out with new complete redesigned models which will force Ford to put out something newer to draw attention away. Who even is new gets the most attention. Its keeping the attention is whats hard to do.

At the '05 Stang launch HTT told Brad that Ford has already prototyped 2005 based versions of a Mach 1, Bullitt and some other models.

He also said that there will not be a SE until 2006 (this conflicts with info. from other Ford people who said mid 2005). HTT also said that there would most likely be a new SE every year. They will be limited in production.

You're not going to see a Cammer in a production car, if you do, it'll be damn expensive. Go take a look in the catalog, they want 15 grand for that damn engine. :bs:

Not to mention that Ford has said it will not put the Cammer in a production car because it does not pass their 150K mile durability test and it is not 50 State emissions legal.
