I am looking to purchase an 05GT 5spd next summer and I am hoping that they will drop down to around 17k...also next summer will dealer still have 05's with a warranty?

You should be able to find one right now for under $17,000. The vehicle is now 5 years old, the factory warrenty is already 2 years over. You probably have to buy an extended warranty from the dealer or aftermarket.

I'd bet a dealer wouldn't have over 13 or $14,000 invested in it, so it shouldn't be a problem finding one now for under $17,000.

Prices of used cars have come up a bit (dealers are offering me $4k more for my car than they were in February), but as everyone said, you should still be able to find one for under $17k now. You won't find one with the original warranty next summer though. Or even now. You'd be hard pressed to even find a 2006 under original warranty right now.

I would have thought you could have found a 2007 for under $17,000 since new ones (2009) were going for $24,000 or so not long ago.

I paid $18000 for my '05 GT w/ 32,000 miles on it, pretty much loaded 1 year ago, so you should easily be able to find one for $17000 or less.

Yea definately, I would probably sell mine for not much more, maybe 18k as is with only a little over 5k original miles.

I bought my 05 gt premium 5speed with 40,000miles on it 2 moths ago for 13,500. You just have to do lots of searching, and lots of haggling. In my area tho dealers think used gt's are gold and ask waaay to much for them, and the bad thing is they usually get it.

bought my '05 GT 'vert a few months ago for $16k... 5 speed manual, 22k miles, Shaker1000, Saleen style bar, painted mirrors, 20" rims... not a ding or scratch anywhere...

might've gotten it for less, but clean, low mileage cars go FAST in the L.A. area, & I didn't want to lose another one.

Be patient and look. I just got my 06 GT with 16k miles for $15,600 and am very happy. Its not the premium interior but its in unreal shape, not one door ding and came with spintech exhaust, aftermarket alarm, side window covers and a Pro Coat rust inhibitor device attached to battery. (Not sure if its worth a sh#t though.)

Agreed. Biggest key is to take your time and LOOK everywhere. I spent about 3 months looking for mine as I wanted specifically the Vista Blue and ended up buying my 06 GT in February. 26K miles for $14,900. Already had the Bassani exhaust, Eibach springs, Shaker 100, S and B intake. I live in Ohio and found mine in Oregon. Cost $1,000 to ship out to me but considering other GT's at the time were going for 3 to 4k more then what I paid, I was happy to do it....

haha, so did I, the same time frame and price in fact. But I tell ya, I looked hard, for quite a while. Used GT's out here on the west coast don't go cheap. Not nice ones with low miles. And I wanted a black car with black leather and a manual trans. Took 6 months, and I still negotiated w/the dealer for a month. The were asking $22,000 for it.
