ok now that i have your attention i am considering selling my novi 2000 mongoose kit. i have a guy that is interested in it with the front mount IC for $4500. would it be worth the extra money for me to go twin turbo?? i know i could get a LOT of extra power with the turbo, but could i still have a decent street car around 600 hp and then crank it up at the track 800+ hp with a boost controller and 2 tunes?

my other choice is a 2002 SS Camaro with a heavily built engine and trans for $12K it is in perfect condition with 40k miles.
    what would be more fun?

if i got the SS it would be a DD. it has 430 rwhp, which is more than my car has for now, but i'm not too sure about having two high powered cars and no truck!

In tech you say you are swapping to manual and in talk you say you are thinking about TT.

How old are you anyways?

Buy a kit...dont even attempt to build a TT kit yourself. Trust me....

Your going to spends about 8,000 for a good kit and dyno tuned (depending on which you choose) . SO after you sell your S/C (does he get injectors and fuel pump too?) your going to have to buy new injectors, switch to a dual Ford GT/BAP Ford GT fuel setup.

You will be out another $5000 or so after its all done.

Is it worth it...well thats up to you. If your not happy with it, then go for it. Just please be sure your going to be happy with it after that....you just look at MPH and everyone buys the newest blower out every year, HUGE mony pit...although I dont recal anyone switching from a turbo setup back to a blower :D .They just keep upping the turbo size and pretty soon their car is a highway supra killer with turbos that wount spool until 4500RPMs :rlaugh: .

If I ever get mine running, ill tell you how they feel LOL. Best advice I can give you, is to not over do them...size wise. A twin 57 setup will spool fast and support around 900RWHP (dependant on A/R) and DONT get the biggest exhaust A/Rs available (re .98 or something like that) keep them in the high .60s- .70 range with whatever you get, unless you want rediculous lag.

i installed a viper spec t56 in my car about 2 weeks ago. i have a buddy that has an auto that wants my old tranny. thats why i made that thread.

my cars trans and rear end is done. i just have to buy some pistons for my billet rods and cobra crank then install the new engine in my car. i am considering swapping to TT when i put the engine in since i was planning on swapping to a tubular front end anyways i may just go TT since i would only have about 3K more in the TT after selling my Novi.

i am 23 years old. i own my own house and i still have enough money to get by fairly well even with all the money i spend on my car. a lot of taht is thanks to my wifes new job and the side work that i do on the weekend.

i dont think i spend more than anyone else on here. i look for good deals and buy when the price is low. i paid 16K for my car and i have just over 17K in mods for it.

i like my car too much to sell it off for a Z06.

i have always been told that i should do what i want to before i have kids, so thats what i am doing. we are planning on starting a family in about 2 years so i better have all the toys i want now!

Alright well, sometimes highschoolers come on here and just talk endless shiot about hypothetical setups they can never afford and will never build... I am glad you are not one of those guys and are "for real" so to speak....

you should know me better than that killy!! dont you remember when you told me not to finance my S/C last may??? i borrowed $4500 and it was paid off last month. i dont BS about my plans. i have a fresh block, manley billet I beam rods, a cobra crank, complete 4v setup, an 8 rib kit and an innovators west crank pulley just sitting in my spare room waiting to be installed. right now this is just a possability that depends on if my buddy buys my S/C. i may or may not go TT but i can assure you that within the next year or so you will see my car putting down at least 600 rwhp!

he was thinking of keeping the gt and having the ss, or keeping the gt and getting the turbo...right?

anyway, id say just pully down the novi and do somthing else with the extra money if its a street car. really how much power do you need on the street? if its a dd, i think after a certain hp number the reliability will be compramised. i dont know what that number would be though:D im setting mine up for about 500rwhp (hopefully) with the novi. thats about as high as i want to go, i figure that will be enough problems. im never going to get good traction on the street so why go over that.

however, if you are going to make a track/race car then i guess the more power the better. in that case id go tt. although another bad ass car would be nice too.

if i did get the camaro i would keep my mustang the way it is now, except for the built bottom end. the only reason i am considering the SS is b/c it is such a good deal. i would drive the SS or my truck or my olds to work and keep the stang for the weekend.
