What tuner will work with the Saleen powerflash? Has anyone switched to Diablo or SCT?

    Justin,

I'll be switching to SCT soon (actually tomorrow hopefully). I'll let you know how things go with that.. I think Shaun on the board did so not too long ago and it sounded like things went pretty well.

I talked with Diablo today. They said it will work but i have to take it to a ford dealership with diablo software. I called my local motorsport dealer and they said they can custom tune the car with the diablo. They have to reflash the saleen program for the diablo to work with the car

I have switched to a Diablo Preadator. The saleen tune is nothing more than a spark advance and fuel advance, This is what James at RWTD told me, as he is making me a custom tune right now.

What/who is RWTD? Who is SCT? How much is the diablo predator? I need a new tune, I have ordered a forged shortblock, and will be reassembling next week, but I'll be danged if I'm gonna use Saleens Flash again... all my info points to their flash as the cause for my engine failure... :(

I have an SCT chip, but I never had the powerflash done Johan, as mine is a GT. SCT can overwrite the power flash.

The first thing you should do is upgrade the fuel pump if that hasn't been done already.

I've used it for 15 months now and no problems.

what does upgrading the fuel pump do for you? I have a N/A 281, will it really make a difference on mine, or is it just for the S/C models? thanks.

The S/C models are at the limit of the stock pump. Any mods usually exceed the capacity. For an N/A car, unless you have some serious mods, the stock pump should be fine.

RWTD= Running With The Devil. James is the custom tunning expert from that company and is tuning my car.

I went with the Diablo. I calibrated for my 4.10's,tires size, turned off traction control. I haven't messed with timing or fuel yet-waiting to dyno before I do. All I had to do is take my car to ford and have my pc reflashed, then I installed the diablo. The car felt like it had better throttle response.
