Pulleys on 04 automatic

Are pulleys worth the price? What improvements did you see? Would it be good to do it at the same time as a chip? Thanks!

Pullies are a great mod for the price. $150 gets you 8-10 hp. Cost about $50 - $70 to have installed in a shop. Does not affect the chip situation at all.

Steeda makes great ones.

You won't see 8-10 hp on a 4.6 2v. Maybe 5 at the MOST. The stock pulleys from mid 2001+ are pretty good.

Im not sure the exact gain on mine since I had a pretty mean tune on my chip at the time of the dyno. I did definately notice some more pull above 3000rpm though. If they are installed correctly you should have 0 problems out of them. I have Steeda pulley's and have no charging problems or anything. I was in stop and go traffic in 80+degree heat in Wilmington last weekend for almost an hour and had no heating issues either

So their aren't any issues with pulleys on Automatics? I have a 2000 GT auto and had someone tell me not to put the alternator pulley on or else I would have trouble with the battery charging or something. Just curious, I'm looking at getting Steeda pulleys.
