Engine Question about the Flex-A-lite 185 electric fan

On my 1991 Mustang LX 5.0 Coupe I have a new 180 thermostat so what temperature should my flexalite fan be turning on? The little black temperature knob is currently turned all the way clockwise. When crusing the temp gauge on the cluster gets halfway before I hear the fan kick on.

Middle of the gauge is 200 deg, that's exactly where your engine likes the temperature. I see no problem with that.

From what I have read and done is you set the fan to come on at 10 deg higher than when the t-stay is full open. Typically takes 5-10 degrees for a t-stay to come full open so call it 7 degrees. T-stat full open at 187 fan set to come on at 197.

I run DCC fan controller on both my cars and just set the dip switch for the t-stat and forget about it.
