rear main seal install

Well obviously you know the tranny clutch and flywheel need to be removed. I have installed them with just a lot of patirnce and a hammer with a wooden block. The best way to do it is to have something that fits the size of the seal and tap it in lightly. Dont ever force it. If you get it going in straight it will have some resistance but will move in with every hit.

Go easy and use patience other wise you will be redoing it in a couple of months. I think Autozone might have an iostallation tool you can "borrow"

if you need to remove the old seal a trick is to drill a screw in a little ways and pull on the screw you may need to do this in a couple of places around the seal

then use the old seal to place the new seal in the block......

I just took my time and with a small flat screw driver worked it out and used the old one (with the flat side to the flat showing side of the new seal) to drive the new one in. I placed the old seal on the new one and tapped it with a hammer very lightly until the new seal was in the correct amount.
