on a 97 cobra, I need to run a remote lead for an amplifier. If I use the one on my head unit, i get no sound from speakers. Can I just wire this to a fuse that works in ACC or ON mode? Or can i get a switch? Anything to make the amp turn on and off with the car :)

Is the head unit OEM or aftermarket? If it is aftermarket, double check to make sure you are actually tapping into the remote turn on lead, and not a power antenna lead. They can look very similar on several brands.

Do you have any way to check for voltage to ensure the remote lead is working? A multimeter would be helpful, or even a test light.

Wiring a switch into the remote lead is pretty easy, I've done it in a lot of cars. The remote lead in one of my cars was wired through the alarm, allowing me to remotely "valet" my system when it was in service, etc.

Tell us a little more about your problem, and I'm sure you'll get your answer.

you can just wire it to anything thats on when the car is on, that way it wont drain your battery when you turn your car off...
