hey guys when i searched all i got was to drill out the rivets. How do you drill out the rivets for the door handles? do you do it from the inside or outside, and how exactly do you drill them out?
do it from the outside until the heads fall off. to make my life easier the next go around I used bolts with a nut and lockwasher on the back side to hold the new handles in.
i just had a friend hold the handle up and drilled from the outside. make sure to use good metal handles and not the plastic crappy ones. i'm on my 3rd set of handles now.
Yeah, all you have to do is start drilling it until the head starts to fall apart from the rest of the rivet. Make sure that you get a metal door handle like mentioned above. A lot of the new ones come with bolts instead of rivets which make them easy to install.
If you go with new rivets, be careful! That rivet gun can kick like a mule and scratch and/or dent your door. You'll definitely need someone to hold the handle straight while you operate the gun, otherwise it'll be tough for it to come out perfect. Protect the surrounding aread when installing the new rivets.
ive got an pneumatic rivet gun
so no bouncing hear..ohh and use the stainless rivets, but make sure you get the right body length..if you get a too long one it wont be as tight as the right sized one
