Try washing the car with a little bit of dish liquid in water and follow this up with a clay bar. That should remove any surface debris, hard spots, or old-stuck-on wax from the surface. If you still have any spots left, some clear coat safe paint cleaner should clear up the problem. Always be sure to wash your car, especially in the summer at least once every 2-3 weeks or you'll have this problem again. Comming to think of it, a really good wax should of held off this problem. What kind of wax were you using again ?

Sound like you have some oxidation on the paint. You should try to use megs 3 phase system which has a paint cleaner, paint polisher, and a wax.
