Anyone with an 03-04 cobra have trouble getting into reverse? I have to push with all my strength to get it into reverse, feels like the resistance is huge. Then when I pull it back down it pops out of it really hard, like the spring is 10x stronger than it should be. What kind of problem does this sound like?

Sounds like something you need to take to the dealership and have it looked at! There is a SLIGHT possibility the "Self-Adjusting" clutch quadrant MAY need a little help. Try this and see if it helps. With the car shut off put the transmission in 1st gear. Now reach down and grab the clutch pedal and pull it towards you firmly.

Now start the car and try placing it in reverse and see if it's any easier. If it didn't make any difference, call up your service department and make an appointment.

Looks like the self adjust didn't help at all. When everything is working correctly, is the shifter supposed to be much harder to put into reverse when the car is off vs when it's running? I think I read somewhere that it was the case. However on my car, whether running or not, it takes the same huge force to get it into reverse.

I guess I'll go the dealer when my replacement dash for the warped one comes in.

You may have a problem with your reverse lockout solenoid.
