We dont have no left/right on red except in a few specials places. Our lights switch to flashing yellow (caution) /flashing red (equals a stop sign) at night.
Good Read! I agree about traffic laws being dumb down for the..well, dumb. See it way too often here in SoCal, more and more traffic lights are being changed to accommodate people that can't drive worth crap. Everyday I see the worlds worst drivers, actually they aren't even drivers...they are people that talk on the phone, put on makeup or that are in a entirely different place mentally then focusing on the task/responsibility at hand, driving.
i agree with all of them even the sobbiety check points one... i got harrassed at one of them for not carrying a "current" insurance card (the one i had was expired) total and against the constitution... now u guys can whine and moan about it keeps drunks off the road well if you see a person driving crazy stay away from them... it's that simple
I'm not saying that I agree with checkpoints, but it's just totally ignorant to say just "stay away from them." Drunk drivers don't kill people by accidentally bumping someone off the road who they are driving next to... something you could avoid. They kill people by swerving into oncoming traffic or barrelling through red lights and such. Most accidents that involved drunk driver's are not a result of the other person not paying attention. Why don't you tell that to someone who has lost a loved one to a drunk driver. Have some respect.
I agree with 5-speedStallion; they're some instances that are not as clear as staying away from "driving crazy". The roads so dynamic and are full of surprises let alone adding drunk drivers to the mix. I pride myself as a very aware defensive driver, but I know I'm still vulnerable and can easily become a victim of someone’s bad judgment or a microsecond drunkenness detour in the oncoming lane. Funny how people think the Constitution gives them more freedoms than it actually does. It's illegal to drive w/out a valid insurance card. If yours was expired, that's illegal, plain and simple. But the cop didn't have a right to pull you over and ask to see it? Wrongo. A cop can pull over whoever he wants, and ask to see a valid license and insurance. That's what traffic cops DO. Just stay away from a drunk person? I shouldn't have to. The Constitution says you have personal freedom, but NOT the freedom to endanger others. I don't get to drive around drunk any more than I get to run around shooting at things in public, because that action endangers others. IMO there's nothing wrong with a sobriety check. If I'm not drunk, and I have a valid license and insurance, then I have nothing to fear or hide. If I'm drunk, or my license is expired, then I have no right to get pissed at a cop because he CAUGHT me.
um, danm, what if i told you i ran around town shooting things every day? well i dont, im not even sure if its legal for me to have a firearm, i sure as hell hope its not. (im 16) if i could i would buy a PSG-1 because those things are THE SH1T and are illegal in the states, but we can keep that our little secret!

no the cops just can serch you cus they want to they have to have some sort of reasonn now that is against the constitution but unless they think your a terrorist then they can ass rape you and be wrong but it's ok...
By law, the sobriety checkpoints are not an invasion of privacy. Essentially the same as an MVI (motor vehicle inspection) checkpoint. When you get your license, you give consent to be randomly stopped at checkpoints of those types as long as there is an "order" to which cars are stopped. As long as either every single car is stopped or every other one, or something. To be stopped along the road, the cop needs a reason....or articulable reasonable suspicion. But no, it's not against the constitution. When you got your license you should've filled out a form stating that you give consent for the police to give you a breathalyzer test should you be stopped. That's why there's a mandatory suspension of your license if you refuse the test.
