rust repair

    hey everyone i was under the stang today and noticed little spots of rust under the car under the floorboard...but only in a really tiny section..its rotting away....on both sides same spot...what the best way to repair this or should i professionally have it repaired??i plan on painting the car in a couple years..

    do you know how to weld? if not then take it somewhere. you'll probably have to cut out the rust spot and weld in a patch panel, depending on how bad the rust is and amount of rust.

    Or just use POR-15 and be done with it.

    yeah but if it's already rotted out, what's there to put POR-15 on? after you weld in the patch panels, yeah POR-15 that b;tch!

    You can POR over smaller holes or use their fiberglass type patch and POR over that. I have several quarter size holes in the floor board I'm going to use it on.
    No doubt cutting and welding is the right way to do it,,, if your restoring it to factory.
