No, tuners are not bad in the long run. Your engine life depends on how you drive your car. I bought my SCT Xcal 2 from Lightning Force Performance here in Houston Tuned for me and my mods. I didn't want 87octane so they did a Street Tune and a Race Tune.

Definately a Deep Rumble, the deepest of them all. It even scares the Vettes away.
